Artist profile

Catherine Lee

Lee is foremost a thinking artist and her work gives evidence of a sensibility that is gently perverse, misdirecting. This attribute allows her to fuse the poetic and technical with a refined sensuality and forthright intelligence. Much of Lee’s work is made from clay, one of the most plastic, formless materials, but her materials also include ceramic, bronze, cast iron and paper. Her work is made from a concept that links the logic of geometry to the changeable substances.
