Peter Hobbs: COLLAGES from BOX

16 October - 15 November 1969

For some time, the spatial box has been a device, even a theme, of Peter Hobbs' paintings. Recently, he has expressed the spatial and structural issues suggested by the form in a project for a three-dimensional multiple. BOX 1969 is made up of 192 elements capable of virtually infinite spatial variation within an alterable box structure. The present exhibition of collages forms a free improvisation upon the notion of change as a dynamic reordering of formal units. - Gene Baro
