Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s London Mastaba returns in Augmented Reality
8 July 2020
We are excited to announce the launch of ‘The London Mastaba AR (Hyde Park) (2020)’, which is available from today, 8th June 2020. Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s ‘London Mastaba, Hyde Park, 2016-2018,’ was the duo’s temporary sculpture on London’s Serpentine lake, made of colourful stacked barrels. It was also the artists’ first major public work in the UK. Now visitors to Hyde Park can virtually summon up the artwork via the free Acute Art app. Planned before Christo’s death in May, this is an opportunity to share and remember the last public work in his lifetime. The augmented reality is best experienced from the North bank of the lake, opposite the Serpentine lido.
