Art Basel

19 - 22 June 2025

Annely Juda Fine Art is delighted to confirm its participation in Art Basel 2025. Unveiling a curated selection of works that embody the core values of the gallery, Annely Juda Fine Art will present artists who were championed by Annely in the early years of her pioneering work, through post-war creatives whose estates we continue to represent, and on to contemporary visionaries whom we have ardently supported over recent years. In addition to our booth, we will present a 10-meter-high sculpture by new gallery artist Nicola Turner at Unlimited as well as a Kabinett section of works by Brazilian artist Lucia Nogueira.

A highlight of our booth will be a painting by celebrated and longstanding gallery artist; David Hockney.  Painted in 2006, Mid November Tunnel is a beautiful example of Hockney’s Yorkshire landscape paintings, a number of which currently hang in the major Hockney exhibition, David Hockney 25, at Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris.

As part of Basel’s Kabinett section we will present works by renowned Brazilian artist Lucia Nogueira (1950– 1998). Born in Brazil, Nogueira visited London in 1975 where she remained for 23 years until her untimely death aged 48. Her multifaceted practice - spanning installation, sculpture, video and drawing - explores the interplay of objects, space and language. Celebrated by critics and held in major collections like Tate, The Arts Council and Museum Serralves, this presentation seeks to spotlight Nogueira’s profound contributions to contemporary art and share her unique vision with the audience of Art Basel 2025.

The origins of Annely Juda Fine Art are defined by a trailblazing commitment to the rigours of abstraction and non-objective art, having promoted such genres as Russian Modernism, Bauhaus and De Stijl. As such, we will present a salon-style section of exemplary works from our historic programme, by artists such as Kasimir Malevich, Naum Gabo, Alexander Rodchenko and Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. In contrast to our historic offering, we will showcase modern works from the seminal estates that we represent, including Leon Kossoff and Anthony Caro. Alongside these, will be works from further longstanding gallery artists including David Nash, Tadashi Kawamata and Suzanne Treister.

At Basel Unlimited, Annely Juda Fine Art will present Danse Macabre, a 10-metre-high site-specific installation by new gallery artist, Nicola Turner. Turner creates sculptures installations that explore fundamental dichotomies: life and death, human and non-human, attraction and repulsion. Using “dead” materials such as horsehair and wool alongside found objects, her works touch upon the history and “memory” of materials, dissolving boundaries amid the interconnectedness of ecosystems.  She gained attention in 2024 for her site-responsive installation The Meddling Fiend which interacted with the statue of Sir Joshua Reynolds in the Courtyard of the Royal Academy, London, for the duration of the Summer Exhibition. In 2026 Annely Juda Fine Art will host Turner’s first solo exhibition.
