The Non-Objective World Twenty-five Years 1914-1939

28 June - 30 September 1978

June 1978 ..... it is ten years since we moved into Tottenham Mews and as a special anniversary celebration we have decided to put on once more an exhibition of The Non-Objective World. These exhibitions have been especially successful and of much interest to many people.

We have chosen the years from 1914-1939. They seem to us to have been the most significant years for the development of non-objective art.

Many of the artists have appeared in our past exhibitions, indeed a number of paintings have also been shown in one or other of our previous Non-Objective World exhibitions. We have tried, however, to add a few new names to the long list of known and lesser known artists to familiarise collectiors with new works and new ideas.

During the past ten years we have tried to mount historical exhibitions at least once a year, but our aim has also been to exhibit and discover new young artists and many who have already distinguished themselves in their own country but have not had exhibitions here. But most of our year is taken up with showing younger painters and sculptors, and we are greatful for their continuing support.

We would like to thank all our artists, our friends, and especially collectors and museums, who have encouraged us during the past years.
