Gerald Gladstone: (Molton Galleries)

23 May - 16 June 1962

This show of my metal scupture is based on the idea that the Universe is not expanding, but is a type of gravity block forms in continuous time cycles.

We are in the thin end of a circular cone-shaped Universe and are moving twoard the fat end and mistake the expanding walls as an expanding Universe. We use light to position ourselves in this shape. Light is related only to this planet's environment, not to a space environment. it is Nature's Braille. The final earth-bound environment is Man. His only ability for expansion into special environment is through a symbolical intelligence. its addition to space will create more space environment.

My sculpture for me is a symbolical addition to space, based on a particular insight into an attitude on form.
