The David and Yuko Juda Art Foundation Grant

13 - 22 September 2023

The David and Yuko Juda Art Foundation is delighted to announce that for the first time in the grant's history, an exhibition of all eight shortlisted artists will be held at Annely Juda Fine Art, London from 13 – 22 September 2023.

The David and Yuko Juda Art Foundation was established as a charity in 2017. The grant awards £50,000 to a living artist to help alleviate some of their financial pressures and give them freedom to concentrate on their practice.

Each year a new curator is appointed to shortlist artists for the grant. For the Foundation's fifth year, British sculptor Alison Wilding has nominated the following artists:

Lea Andrews (b.1958, Oxfordshire, UK)

Roderick Coyne (b.1945, Buckinghamshire, UK)

Kate Davis & David Moore (b.1960, Chesham, UK, b.1960, Edinburgh, UK)

Jess Flood-Paddock (b.1977, London, UK)

Ana Genovés (b.1969, Madrid, Spain)

Eloise Hawser (b.1985, London, UK)

Robert Holyhead (b.1974, Trowbridge, UK)

Sam Porritt (b.1979, London, UK)

A panel of Foundation trustees and four guest judges, Andrea Rose (Former Director of Visual Arts, British Council), Reinhard Spieler (Director of the Sprengel Museum, Hannover) Jonathan Watkins (former Director of IKON, Birmingham) and Andrew Wilson (art historian, critic and former curator at Tate Britain) will select the 2023 recipient and this will be announced at the reception.
