The Non-Objective World 1924 - 1939

The Creative impetus which brought about the renewal of the arts at the beginning of this century, reached its peak in the development of painting during the early Twenties.

 

Two high points were easily recognisable, divided by the event of the First World War: before the War the revolutionary destruction of form and content and after the War, the search for a new order of form in unison with the aims of the society.
